MATHS, EXPLAINED

WHY TALK ABOUT MATHS?

Maths is, at its heart, a beautiful subject. Unfortunately, this beauty is often locked away under long equations, confusing theorems, and years of necessary background knowledge.

This publication aims to bring out the hidden beauty of maths through visual aids and (hopefully) easy to understand explanations. Some ideas are difficult to explain fully in a static textbook, so I use animation to bring out the true nature of a maths problem.

This is intended for people studying or who have studied the Edexcel A Level Further Maths course. I try to make it easy to understand for people with little mathematical background, but be warned: the content can become technical.

I use a Python-based animation software called Manim, an apt portmanteau of the words "maths" and "animation", to produce the visual aids used in my articles. It was produced and is used by Grant Sanderson, who runs the YouTube channel 3Blue1Brown, which is a fantastic resource for learning maths. I highly recommend you watch his channel, along with a few others listed in the "Inspirations" section of this website.
